Horticulture Apprenticeship with Muddy Wellies Gardens

Muddy Wellies Gardens are offering an exciting opportunity to join their passionate and friendly team as a Horticulture Apprentice. You will gain valuable experience and knowledge along with an insight into the industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and expanding gardening business as part of our Garden Maintenance Team. You will be on site four days per week and in the classroom one day per week, Monday to Friday. On the job you will be working alongside experienced staff members in a variety of settings to develop and maintain a wide range of different gardens. You will be taught how to safely operate a range of petrol garden machinery and be introduced to all aspects of horticulture and gardening including:

• Plant identification
• Weeding
• Pruning and training
• Planting
• Soil science
• Maintenance and cleaning of equipment

Over the two years you will experience the seasonality of the job and start to gain an understanding of the rhythm and timing of certain gardening tasks. Our experienced and friendly team are able to guide you in the workplace and answer questions to help you learn as you go. By the end of the apprenticeship you will have a solid foundation of knowledge and practical skills on which to grow your horticultural/gardening career.
