This qualification aims to give learners knowledge and understanding of the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care.

Learners will investigate the principles involved and how they are applied in a working environment. They will also examine the dilemmas that can arise and the consequences when these principles are not upheld.

Ideal if:

This qualification is designed primarily for individuals working with, or intending to work with, vulnerable adults in the health and social care sectors. It aims to give learners knowledge and understanding of the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care.  Learners will examine the responsibilities of care workers involved in protecting the health, well-being and human rights of individuals in their care.

You’ll need:

 

  • Learners should be aged 16 or over
  • Learners must have been resident in the EU for the last 3 years.

You’ll learn:

The flexible nature of this distance learning course enables learners to fit study time around professional and personal commitments.  There are two modules, each with a workbook and final assessment to complete.

Expect:

This is a distance learning course offering a choice of traditional paper-based assessment or online assessment using an e-portfolio system.  Individual support from an assessor is offered, as required.
