Working and learning as an apprentice in the business world offers a variety of opportunities for career development. You could start as an office junior in a large organisation, trying out various departments to find your ideal career, or you could become a jack of all trades in a small business, working across many disciplines.

We recommend that you start with our Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Level 2, as this will give you an excellent grounding in all aspects and help you decide on your future specialism. The Level 3 programme is more suited to those with some prior experience and looking to gain management and leadership skills.

This apprenticeship offers a tripod of learning success bringing together customer service skills, business support and specialist areas tailored to meet your needs.  The Business Support Apprenticeship blends workplace mentoring and coaching with cherry picked workshops to give you a full range of specialist skills within a fully transferrable occupation, required to enhance your development, professional growth and career opportunities.

This apprenticeship is ideal if you are looking to develop your customer service and business support knowledge and skills to progress within a wide range of industry sectors.

Entry Requirements:

Customer Service Practitioners are hugely influential in the delivery of a good customer experience and their satisfaction with an organisation.  You will need to be employed in a Customer Service role and will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and behaviours as well as product and/or service knowledge.  Customer interactions may cover a wide range of situations and can include; face-to-face, telephone, post, email, text and social media.

Regular performance, milestone and progress reviews will be continuous throughout the training.

Progression:

Learners who upon successful completion of the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 apprenticeship may have the opportunity to progress into:

  • An enhanced job role using the skills developed through the Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship as the foundation which to build.
  • Onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship for example: Customer Service or Business Administrator
  • Into sector specific job roles which contain elements of transferable customer service skills, potentially including the undertaking of additional sector specific vocational qualifications.

Nichola had always known that she wanted to work in administration and started searching for jobs, but found that she didn’t have the right office qualifications and lacked the work experience she needed to start her career.
"I looked into apprenticeships as I knew it could be the perfect stepping stone into a job that I wanted to do. It was also the perfect opportunity to gain a relevant qualification as well as gain work experience and a wage at the same time.
