ESOL Skills for Life qualifications support speakers of other languages based within the UK to develop their English language skills for work, further learning or everyday life.
ESOL is an acronym that stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages.
The courses are made up of three units – Reading, Writing, and Speaking and Listening – and based on the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum. Courses are aimed to cover the ability to:
• speak, listen and respond
• read and comprehend
• write to communicate.
These qualifications are intended for anyone based in the UK needing to improve their understanding and use of written or spoken English. This might be to help get on at work (or get a job), prepare for further study, access public services, or just to function more effectively in an English-speaking environment.
We offer this course from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2.

Candidates will need to book an appointment via Customer Service Enquiries and will be asked to attend an interview with the tutor.
During the interview you should undergo a proper process of initial and diagnostic assessment to ensure that you are working towards an appropriate ESOL qualification at the correct level.
The cost for this course is free for students working and living locally who can provide proof of income.
The teacher will select appropriate teaching and learning strategies, activities and materials to help learners develop and practice the component skills. Lesson planning should incorporate strategies for independent learning and encourage learners to practice skills outside the classroom in the real world.
Sessions will include objectives, activities and materials and will, as far as possible, take account of the individual needs and interests.
Lessons are taught once a week and are classroom based. Attendance is mandatory. ESOL courses start in September and end in June.
There will be three exams in order to obtain the full qualification in ESOL Skills for Life and certificates - reading assessment, writing assessment and speaking and listening assessment.
