You are interested in non-medical treatments which help with the overall health of the body and you would like to pursue a career as a beauty therapist in a clinic, health hydro spa, department store or cruise liner. Spa Therapy consists of non-medical treatments which help with the overall health of the body. If you are involved in massage, stone therapy, hydrotherapy, body wrapping and floatation treatments and you would like a qualification to demonstrate you specialist skills, or you have worked in a salon, spa or similar job for some time and have gained your level 2 beauty therapy/ nail services qualification, this course may be for you.
Two GCSEs at grade C or 4, including English and mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
How to develop your work based skills; recognising the importance of professional practice. You will be involved with induction, consultation, treatment care and advice as well as tailoring aftercare advice to individual clients.

To train in purpose built salons which are open to the public.
Practical skills are developed on fellow students - once a level of competence is reached clients are to be used for assessment. You will be assessed practically, theoretically and orally in all areas. Testimonials may be required as evidence in some areas. Complete portfolios are verified and should include assessment books, projects, and theoretical papers.
The industry based focus of this course, working in a fast paced environment.
Gain employment in a resort, destination spa, day spa or beauty salon. Opportunities exist in the UK as well as overseas for this fast growing industry. You may move into management or become a trainer, lecturer or a company field technician.
