Automotive Maintenance & Repair Advanced Apprenticeship

Cornwall College St Austell | Camborne LEVEL: 3 Motor Vehicle

The skills required for many occupations are best learnt by combining learning through work. This is the heart of an apprenticeship; it is the intertwined learning and working relationship that makes apprenticeships unique. Apprenticeships, particularly in high skilled trades, are of crucial and continuing importance to the UK economy.

To become a fully qualified light vehicle mechanic you need to complete the Level 3 apprenticeship that usually takes two years. If you want to work on your skills and knowledge before starting an apprenticeship, we can offer you a one year full-time course first to build your confidence to enter the workplace.

This two-year course will provide you with the chance to become a fully qualified light vehicle technician. You will gain higher practical skills training in our state-of-the-art workshops and working garages and on completion you will be able to understand and diagnose faults on a range of systems, have the knowledge and experience to be able to supervise others and have some understanding of how to run your own business, or work to become a diagnostic technician.
