Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, the coastguard, civil servants and private security firms all provide a vital service to the community. This exciting course will give you the basic knowledge you need to pursue a career in this area or continue your studies to university level.
This Level 3 course has been uniquely designed with industry specialists and covers a range of exciting outdoor learning experiences including first aid, security searches and rescue techniques, and emergency incident role play. Our fantastic facilities include a command and control centre, climbing tower and acres of land to train on, providing the perfect setting for this course.

You would like to pursue a career in the emergency services or security industry.
Four GCSEs at grade 4 including English or maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification at merit grade.
Supported by industry professionals you will study a number of modules including command and control, security procedures, ICT and cyber security, rescue skills, responding to emergency incidents, and exercise health and wellbeing. You will also be given a number of challenges to improve your leadership, communication and decision-making skills and gain valuable life and work experiences.
You will have lots of opportunities to visit and train with the emergency and community services and participate in public service events and activities. We have strong links with a number of organisations including HM Coastguard, Devon and Cornwall Police, Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service and many more. You will have lots of opportunities to undertake work experience within your local community.
Our members of staff have many years of experience in the industry and are up-to-date with the all the latest developments in the emergency services sector.
