You are working in the caring and helping professions or for those in other areas of work or study where the value of counselling and skills is recognised.
No prior experience necessary; this introductory programme is an essential starting point if you are looking to progress on to our range of further counselling programmes. Although you do need to be aged 19 or over.
This qualification consists of four mandatory units which must all be completed in order to be awarded the qualification.

- Introduction to counselling skills theories
- Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills
- Counselling skills and personal development
To complete a portfolio of work demonstrating your knowledge and understanding of the course.
The opportunity to arrange your own personal counselling to experience counselling as a client.
Further counselling courses such as the Certificate in Advanced Counselling Studies or the Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Therapy.
