Access courses are designed as a stepping stone to enable motivated, enthusiastic people to progress on to Higher Education. This is ideal for those who want to re-train or re-direct their lives into Leisure and Events Management or who want to take a degree in Events Management related subjects.
There is a very high level of academic and personal support throughout the course, which can help if you need to combine study with part time employment and family commitments.

You are an adult student who hasn't studied A levels before, or you want a change in career and the chance to pursue a role in events management.
There aren't any specific entry requirements but all applicants will be asked to attend a workshop and complete an initial assessment as well as a written exercise.
A range of units relevant to Leisure and Event Management. Each unit is worth 3 credits and for successful completion of this Access course, you'll need a minimum of 60 credits overall. Units include -

- Sustainable Tourism
- The Tourism Environment
- Tourism Marketing
This course primarily consists of coursework and students will be expected to supplement taught study with their own research and study during the week.

You can progress on to various university degrees in Event Management, Leisure and Tourism, Marketing, Sustainable Tourism etc. Some students decide to go straight into employment.
