This one year top-up programme is designed for those who have completed an FdSc or HND or equivalent across a range of subjects and would like to progress to a full honours degree.

This programme will enable you to develop your existing knowledge to encompass the planning and management skills required to run a successful enterprise. It is based on an analytical approach to problem-solving and communication.

The programme is highly flexible allowing you to study, in detail, a chosen topic through an honours project and a selection of modules which are available in response to student demand.

In some of your modules there will be opportunities for you to work closely with industry, businesses and the Queen’s Anniversary Prize winning Rural Business School.

This progression to honours year allows you to either specialise or be more generic in your studies. Either way the support from a group of highly experienced staff will help your development and advance your business skills.

  Entry Requirements

240 credits with 120 at level 5 from a relevant Foundation Degree, HND, or equivalent in an appropriate subject. All qualifications and subject grades will be considered on an individual basis. HND qualifications may require additional bridging modules.

  Assessment

The programme is assessed in a variety of modes such as presentations, consultancy reports and practical case studies.

Prospective beekeepers are strongly advised to seek as much information as possible about bees and work alongside another beekeeper before purchasing any hives. To start you on the right track we are offering a course for beginners. Apiculture has a voluntary Code of Conduct. The code’s objectives are to maintain good relations among all beekeepers and stakeholders, be considerate of public safety, and through good beekeeping practice, ensure the sustainability of bees and their environment. Please note these courses are run over three mornings as follows: 27 March, 10 April and 24 April - 9am to 12pm 22 May, 5 June and 19 June - 9am to 12pm Full Covid19 Risk assessment to be shared at the time of booking.
