This one year top-up programme is designed for those who have completed an FdSc or HND or equivalent across a range of subjects and would like to progress to a full honours degree.

This programme will enable you to develop your existing knowledge to encompass the planning and management skills required to run a successful enterprise. It is based on an analytical approach to problem-solving and communication.

The programme is highly flexible allowing you to study, in detail, a chosen topic through an honours project and a selection of modules which are available in response to student demand.

In some of your modules there will be opportunities for you to work closely with industry, businesses and the Queen’s Anniversary Prize winning Rural Business School.

This progression to honours year allows you to either specialise or be more generic in your studies. Either way the support from a group of highly experienced staff will help your development and advance your business skills.

  Entry Requirements

240 credits with 120 at level 5 from a relevant Foundation Degree, HND, or equivalent in an appropriate subject. All qualifications and subject grades will be considered on an individual basis. HND qualifications may require additional bridging modules.

  Assessment

The programme is assessed in a variety of modes such as presentations, consultancy reports and practical case studies.

The Basic Bee Keeping Part 1 is a 2 term course of 36 hours providing a grounding in beekeeping. This course aims to get you started before getting your bees. The course is an excellent grounding for those wishing to keep bees and involves lectures, practical demonstrations, sharing of experiences along with answers to those unsure of whether to keep bees or not. All teaching takes place at Rosewarne where West Cornwall Beekeepers Association has an outdoor apiary.

Develop your skills in dry stone walling with this two day course. Dry stone walls are part of our heritage and an important and attractive way to define boundaries. Laying the stones without using mortar is an age-old technique which keeps the walls strong and stable. You will undertake basic walling and be able to rebuild gaps in free-standing dry stone walls. Improve your awareness of safe working practices and the preservation of our wildlife and habitat.
