If you would love a career working outdoors then this course is ideal for you. Throughout your studies you will learn the skills and knowledge needed to manage land and wildlife.

With access to our beautiful farms and estates this course focuses on practical skills development, ensuring you are work ready when you finish your studies. The grounds of our Rosewarne campus are spread over approximately 47 hectares, allowing you to immerse yourself in every aspect of countryside living.

  What You Will Learn

During the course you will study a range of modules including ecological surveys, conservation practices, coastal management, farm habitats, livestock conservation, rural technology, forestry estate maintenance, countryside tourism, woodland habitat, forest recreation and environmental interpretation.

  Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4 including English, maths and science.

  Work Experience

As part of your course you will be required to carry out Work Experience and/or an Industry Placement.

  Assessment

Assessment includes both coursework and exams.

  Progression

University study such as our FdSc Conservation & Countryside Management or employment in the industry, FdSc Agriculture, or BSc (Hons) Agriculture.

Throughout this practical course you will learn and practice the techniques to lay a hedge that is stock proof and healthy. You will have the skills and knowledge to confidently lay a hedge that is strong and will be bushy and healthy . All participants must wear steel toe capped boots. Please bring suitable gloves and outdoor/waterproof clothing. You may bring your own tools but they will be your responsibility. Please bring your own packed lunch and drink.
