Game & Wildlife Management Apprenticeship

Duchy College Stoke Climsland LEVEL: 3 Agriculture & Countryside Management

If you would like a career that involves regularly being in the countryside and you have an interest in game and habitat management, then being a gamekeeper is the perfect career for you; there really is no better way to learn about gamekeeping than being out in the field, gaining hands-on training as an apprentice.

An apprenticeship will allow you to earn money while you are studying. In order to start your apprenticeship in gamekeeping you will need to join the Level 2 course and on successful completion you can then progress on to Level 3 and beyond.

The gamekeeping industry is constantly evolving and, as an apprentice, you will learn practical skills from your employer and the theory behind gamekeeping at college, giving you the best of both worlds and ensuring you are kept up-to-date with the latest advances in the industry.

Your studies at college will help enhance your practical learning and you will study how to assist in game shooting activities, how to control pests and predators and enforce appropriate predator control, how to control and improve game populations and how to manage public relations.
