Zoo Animal Care Certificate

Duchy College Stoke Climsland LEVEL: 2 Animal Management & Veterinary Nursing

We’ve all been on a day out at the zoo and seen the vast number of animals on display, but zoos are no longer simply collections of animals for people to visit, they play a vital role in carrying out conservation work. Captive breeding programmes, protecting endangered species, and inspiring the next generation to care and protect these animals, are all essential tasks zoos carry out on a day to day basis and you could play a vital role in this important work.

We offer two options for you to start your studies in zoology depending on your GCSE results. Our Level 3 course offers you the choice of university study or employment on successful completion of your course. Our Level 2 course is ideal should your GCSE results not be what you expected, with the option to progress to Level 3.

This Level 2 course is run in conjunction with Dartmoor Zoological Park, where you will learn about the specialist care that zoo animals need. Throughout the course you will learn by a combination of practical and theory work and you will also have the opportunity to gain great industry experience in the animal industry.
