There is a wide range of careers available in this sector including employment in garden retailing, plant nurseries, edibles production, landscaping, parks and gardens, and turf care. Our apprenticeships are designed to help you focus your skills and decide which career path is best for you.
An apprenticeship will allow you to earn money while you are studying. In order to start your apprenticeship in horticulture you can either join our Level 3 apprenticeship, depending on your GCSE results, or you can choose one of our Level 2 courses.
This level 2 qualification is designed for anyone who would like to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding to work in the horticultural industry and to study through work-based learning. The course reflects the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in amenity and landscape gardening. Those who are interested in working in, or are already employed in; landscape gardening, parks, gardens and greenspaces, production horticulture, garden centres, nurseries and cemeteries.

GCSEs in English and maths at grade 3.
You will study a range of modules including how to establish plants and seeds in soil, preparing sites for landscaping, identifying plants, using appropriate tools and constructing water features.
Your assignments and projects to be assessed throughout the course. You'll also work towards Level 2 functional skills qualification in English and mathematics.

Since completing my horticulture apprenticeship I have enrolled on to a maintenance apprenticeship.
