We have worked in partnership with the Highways Agency and Cormac to develop an apprenticeship programme in groundworks that will prepare you for a career in this sector. There is a significant skills gap with the development of the Hinkley Point C project with a massive demand for skilled operatives, offering you great career opportunities.
To become qualified in plant operations via the apprenticeship route you will need to complete a Level 2 qualification. We offer two routes, one broad construction plant operating qualification and another that is more specifically about groundworks with a civil engineering focus. The route you choose will depend on your employer’s business focus and your personal ambitions.
This specialist two-year apprenticeship offers you the chance to get your Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card to enable you to operate plant machinery.
