This course is practical based, in our bespoke marine engineering workshops at Falmouth, suitable for individuals wishing to maintain and service their own outboard engines.
You will work on outboard engines, general servicing, fault finding, routine checks, cleaning & greasing, electrics, fuel and lubrication systems, propeller changing and care, changing gearbox oil, water pump inspection and replacement.

Kevin James Marine Engineering Course Manager
Kevin grew up in Cornwall and went to Cape Cornwall School. Kevin has always tinkered on boats and spent several years working as a Head Greenkeeper before retraining as a Marine Engineer at Falmouth Marine School. This is where he discovered his passion for teaching others and completed his teacher training. Kevin worked in the industry as a self-employed marine engineer before returning to Falmouth Marine School to train the marine engineers of the future.
