One of the UK’s leading suppliers of body armour, SafeGuard Armour, has backed students at Cornwall College by donating a state of the art bullet-proof vest. The Coolmax Kevlar vest will give students working towards a career in the services an example of the protective clothing that they may use later in their career, and helps staff to provide hands-on learning experiences for the students, such as role play.
Thomas Bowman, Communications Manager at SafeGuard Armour, said: “Here at SafeGuard Armour LTD we strive to better educate our future service men and women by providing them with the most up to date equipment for the students to get an insight to what equipment they will be using in the future. We hope this brings a new cutting edge style of teaching to the college.”
Cornwall College Camborne offers a range of Public Services courses and a highly successful military preparation course. The Military Academy is designed to equip students with all the skills, fitness and knowledge to enter basic training.
Richie Wilson, Public Services Team Lead at Cornwall College Camborne, said: “Our students really enjoy taking part in practical training sessions alongside the theory learnt in the classroom, and this generous donation from SafeGuard Armour will further enhance the experience for our students”.
