If you are looking for a fun family day out, Falmouth Marine School is opening its doors to a world of marine excitement.
The internationally renowned centre of boatbuilding, marine biology, watersports and marine engineering courses is hosting its Open Day on Saturday 25th May from 11am to 2pm.
The free event, which promises fun for all the family, includes the chance to feed fearsome piranhas, build a boat and come face-to-face with the amazing marine life in the classroom tanks.
Lynsey Williams attended last year with Alfie aged 3, Ella aged 7 and Chloe aged 16.
“It was such a fantastic event,” she said.
“There was something for all the children to get involved with. Alfie refused to leave the shark tank and the girls were delighted with the boats they built and the amazing species they saw under the microscopes.”
Head of Falmouth Marine School, Bob Harris, said it was a fantastic opportunity to experience one of the UK’s most celebrated specialist colleges.
“We offer everything from entry-level to degree-level courses, including apprenticeships, many of which are not offered anywhere else in the county,” he explained.
“Boasting world-class facilities, our ethos is about making learning work and we help students gain real employability skills and experiences.”
