The South West’s largest independent plumbing merchant has formed a new partnership with Cornwall’s leading construction skills provider.
Plumbstop, formed in 1991 in Wiltshire, has enjoyed organic growth over the past 27 years, culminating in over 20 branches across the South West.
“We have already had great success investing and partnering with other colleges in the region and we were looking to further expand our strategy in Cornwall,” explained Shaun Molseed, Plumbstop, Regional Sales Manager.
“We have recently opened a new branch in Pool and with Cornwall College’s accolade of being the number one provider of construction trade skills in Cornwall, it made perfect sense to approach them.”
The partnership will see the potential development of the Plumbstop Academy, which will see the successful business invest in equipment, workwear, external workshops and apprenticeships.
“We are seeing a growing number of students wanting to train with us for the construction industries and by having these partnerships we are able to offer our students additional insights, masterclasses and business experiences,” said Jem Stevens, Cornwall College Camborne, Programme Manager Plumbing added.
“Plumbstop is be offering our students dedicated training with their suppliers, special branch visits and trade discount cards. We are all really looking forward to working with Plumbstop to helping our students become even more work ready.”
Simon Curtis, Plumbstop, Branch Manager said the plumbing provision at Cornwall College is “second to none”.
“We were so impressed with the facilities and we are proud to be associated with the department,” he continued.
“It’s great that the staff have embraced this partnership to help their students develop.”
