A Cornish student has taken the plunge and had her long locks cut for charity.

Level 2 Make Up Artistry student at Cornwall College Saltash, Isla Hobbs, has raised over £400 for Macmillan.

“My family and friends were really surprised at first when I told them about the cut, but really proud of me for doing the fundraising,” Isla explained.

“Macmillan provides so much support for people currently going through cancer, and their families.”

According to Macmillan, a thousand people a day were diagnosed with cancer by end of 2016.

“Unfortunately family members of mine have been affected by cancer, so it means an awful lot for me to be able to fundraise for this charity,” Isla continued.

“I received a lot of support at college which is great. I would definitely recommend studying at Cornwall College Saltash.”

Head of Campus, Margaret Butfield, said everyone is “really proud of Isla for doing this fundraising for such a worthwhile charity.”
