Students in Saltash are raring to dive into their studies following what has been dubbed the college’s “best ever” fresher’s fair.
Hosted by the Cornwall College Saltash Student Union, the event boasted lots of activities including the popular laser tag.
National exhibitors were also present to speak to students and distribute information including Better Leisure, Barclays, Army, Samaritans, Royal Airforce and the NHS.
Chair of the Student Union, Andrew Mourelle-Nash, said this year’s fresher’s fair was “the best ever”.
“There was such a good atmosphere, we had more exhibitors than ever before, it was great to see so many students taking part and enjoying the day,” he added.
Level 2 Professional Cookery student, Sharna Bingham, said there was a “real buzz around college, everyone got involved.”
“It was great to have the opportunity of taking part in laser tag, magic mirror and enjoying the BBQ,” she continued.
Student Liaison Officer, Ali Gerry, who organised the event said it was important to make the fresher’s fair “fun and exciting” for the students.
“That’s why we tried to have as many active events as possible and many of the businesses exhibiting had links to industries our courses are related to which was really beneficial for the students.
“I would like to say a massive thank you to all the businesses that had a stall, they provided excellent advice and guidance for our students and gave away some brilliant freebies which went down very well. It was a fantastic day that the students really threw themselves into.”
