Two Bicton College students have received cheques for £500 from the DCAA as a reward for their hard work and dedication to their course and College.
Dan King and Jo Beams, both studying Agriculture at Bicton College, were chosen for the award, which was given to them by their Team Lead, Ginnette Williams. Ginnette commented: “These two students have been engaged and enthusiastic throughout their course and as such they are attaining a high standard of work. We are thrilled to be able to award them with this financial contribution to reward them for their efforts.”
Dan King, studying a Level 3 Diploma in Agriculture said:
“I have always had a passion for Agriculture and completed a Level 1 Diploma in Agriculture as a day release student through my school at Bicton College, achieving a Distinction. I left school and started at Bicton College as a Level 2 Agriculture student, again receiving a Distinction in this course. I am now currently working towards a Level 3 Technical Certificate in Agriculture and am aiming to come back next year to achieve the full Level 3 Technical Extended Diploma in Agriculture. I currently work on a 600 acre beef, sheep and arable farm in the South Hams.”
“I am so pleased to receive this cheque from the DCAA, as this will help me to fund my fuel costs for travelling to college and will enable me to purchase books to extend my knowledge in agriculture and progress further with my studies.” Adds Dan.
Both students and staff at Bicton College are extremely grateful to DCAA for their generosity.
