Virtual event showcases land-based college opportunities

Those considering a career in a land-based industry are in luck as specialist training provider Duchy College hosts a virtual showcase of its two incredible campuses.

Taking place online on Saturday 20th March, the virtual event will highlight the educational options available at both Duchy College’s Stoke Climsland and Rosewarne campuses.

Potential students and their families can learn more about the wide range of courses and progression routes on offer, starting at entry-level and continuing right up to degree-level study.

Visitors to the online event will have the opportunity to engage with the Duchy team, asking questions on all aspects of college life including courses, study programmes, transport, accommodation, student services and learning support.

Nestled between Callington and Launceston, Duchy College Stoke Climsland includes the new state-of-the-art dairy farm and research facility, Future Farm, as well as industry-standard equestrian facilities, a new animal care unit and adventure sports facilities.

Jamie Crisp, Head of Duchy College Stoke Climsland said he was “delighted to be able to offer the virtual open event to prospective students.”

“Our virtual platform gives people a chance to explore the amazing opportunities available at our beautiful rural campuses,” he explained.

“As a leading provider of land-based education, Duchy College boasts an impressive range of courses covering everything from agriculture, horticulture and land based engineering to equine, animal care and military and protective services,” Jamie continued.

Situated on a working farm just outside of Camborne, Duchy College Rosewarne’s 47-hectare site is not only a working nursery but also includes land-based engineering workshops, specialist veterinary nursing facilities and animal management centre.

Carol Knight, Head of Duchy College Rosewarne described the site as “a beautiful, friendly and inspiring campus” and “a truly unique gem sat on acres of countryside.”

“We are going from strength-to-strength, as we offer something different; a place where people can study subjects they are passionate about in a safe and engaging natural environment,” explained Carol.

“We have so many exciting things happening and our learners progress to the most rewarding careers, which is what we are all about as ‘the career college’.”

“Please join us to find out about how you can get the qualification, industry experience and personal skills you need to build the career you want.”

Duchy College is part of The Cornwall College Group, which has been investing heavily in its campuses, student experiences and staff training and was recently awarded the highest possible judgement in an Ofsted monitoring visit.
